The Valley's Keeper
Inspired by my travels through Washington's wine country, The Valley's Keeper is a tribute to the breathtaking beauty of the Yakima Valley and the quiet majesty of Mount Adams. Rising above rolling vineyards, winding waterways, and sunlit hills, the mountain stands as a timeless guardian over the land below—unchanged through generations of harvests, changing seasons, and countless journeys.
Framed by ripe vineyard grapes in the foreground, the composition invites viewers into the landscape, following the rows of vines toward the valley and ultimately to the snow-capped summit beyond. The piece celebrates not only the region's natural beauty, but also the enduring relationship between the land, those who cultivate it, and the mountains that have faithfully watched over it for centuries.
Painted with a combination of acrylic and oil on canvas, layered textures and rich color bring depth and warmth to this Pacific Northwest landscape while preserving the crisp grandeur of Mount Adams.
